7 days and 6 nights in Rome, Italy. Sharing my Rome Itinerary in hopes it can help you with your planning if you’re vacationing in Italy soon!
Things To Note
Visiting Rome is a dream come true for many, and whether it’s your first time or your tenth, a little preparation goes a long way. Here are some key things to note for a smoother and more enjoyable Roman adventure:
- Learn basic Italian phrases: “Buongiorno” (hello), “Grazie” (thank you), and “Prego” (you’re welcome) go a long way.
- Many shops and restaurants close for a midday break between 1-3 pm.
- A small tip for exceptional service is appreciated, but not mandatory.
- Beware of pickpockets: Crowded areas like tourist attractions and public transportation are prime targets.
- Keep your valuables secure and close to your bodyWatch out for fake tickets, overpriced goods, and restaurant scams. Do your research and stick to reputable vendors.
- Purchase the Roma Pass: This pass offers free entry to museums and archaeological sites, unlimited public transportation, and discounts on other attractions.
- Skip the lines at popular sites like the Colosseum and Vatican Museums by booking tickets online or through local tour companies.
- Eating out can be expensive, so plan your meals accordingly and consider trying street food for a delicious and budget-friendly option.
- You’ll be doing a lot of walking, so pack shoes that provide good support.
- Knowing a bit about the city’s rich past will enhance your experience.
- Relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and soak up the Italian way of life.
